- You Fly from the Captain’s Seat From your very first flight, you’ll be in the left seat—the pilot’s seat. You’ll feel the power of the engine, the feel of the controls, and the unparalleled freedom of being airborne over the epic scenery of Kachemak Bay.
- You Are at the Controls Under the calm, expert guidance of your Certified Flight Instructor, Wes Head, you will learn the fundamentals and perform the core maneuvers yourself. You’ll taxi on the water, you’ll control the takeoff, you’ll make turns in the air, and you’ll guide the aircraft on its final approach to a smooth landing on the water.
- Bring a Friend to Share the Adventure The experience is even better when shared! A guest is welcome to ride along in the back seat to capture photos and videos of your incredible first flight.
Your Discovery Flight: What to Expect
We have designed a one-hour experience that is safe, educational, and absolutely unforgettable.
- Total Duration: 1 hour
- Structure:
- 30-Minute Ground Training: Your adventure begins on the ground where CFI Wes Head will walk you through a pre-flight inspection and explain the fundamental principles of flight. You’ll learn how the aircraft’s controls work and what to expect in the air in a clear, easy-to-understand way.
- 30-Minute Hands-On Flight: This is where theory becomes reality. You’ll take your seat, start the engine, and fly! For 30 incredible minutes, you will be the one piloting our iconic Aeronca Sedan floatplane over the breathtaking waters and landscapes of Homer.
What’s Included in Your Discovery Flight:
